FAQ
Quick answers before you get your next tattoo
Does getting a tattoo hurt?
It depends on the placement and your pain tolerance. Fleshy areas like the outer arm or thigh usually hurt less. Bony or thin-skinned areas like the ribs, ankles, and spine are often more painful. Everyone feels it differently.
How long does a tattoo take to heal?
The surface usually heals in about 2 to 4 weeks. The deeper layers of skin can take a few months to settle completely. Follow your artist’s aftercare instructions.
How much does a tattoo cost?
Prices vary a lot by artist, city, size, and detail. Many studios have a minimum price, and complex or large pieces can take several sessions. Ask the studio for a quote before booking.
What are the best placements for a first tattoo?
Many people choose the forearm, upper arm, or calf, because they are easy to care for and usually less painful. The best placement is the one that fits your design and your lifestyle.
What is a fine line tattoo?
A fine line tattoo uses thin, delicate lines, often with little or no shading. It’s popular for minimalist designs, lettering, and small symbols. Because the lines are thin, choose an artist with experience in this style.
Will small and minimalist tattoos fade?
Any tattoo can change over time, especially with sun exposure. Very small or very thin designs can lose sharpness faster. Using sunscreen and good aftercare helps keep it looking fresh.
How do I choose a tattoo design?
Start with a meaning, a style, and a placement. Save a few references, then bring them to a tattoo artist and ask for a custom version. Please don’t copy another artist’s work exactly.
Can I use the designs on your website for my tattoo?
The designs here are for inspiration. If a design was created by another artist, please ask them for permission or ask your tattoo artist to create a custom version. For my own original designs, contact me first.
How do I choose a tattoo artist?
Look at their portfolio, check that their style matches what you want, and make sure the studio is licensed and clean. Read reviews and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
Are you a tattoo artist?
